Where in the UK is Sandbanks?

Located in Poole, Dorset on the South Coast of England. Sandbanks is a small peninsula which intersects the mouth of Poole Harbour. With the English Channel on one side and Poole Bay and harbour on the other.

Sandbanks is connected to Studland and the Isle of Purbeck by the Sandbanks Ferry, also known as the “Bramble Bush Bay” chain ferry. The ferry service in some form or other has been transporting pedestrians and vehicles to and from the peninsula for over 90 years first beginning in 1926.


Sandbanks Beach on the eastern side of the of the peninsula is an award winning Blue Flag beach (this year celebrating it’s 35th anniversary of winning the award – 2022). Know for it’s crystal clear, clean waters and soft golden stone-free sands.
