Often referred to as “Britain’s Best Beach” and “The jewel in the crown of the English Coastline” – Sandbanks has won the prestigious Blue Flag Award every year since the scheme began in 1987. That is more than any other beach in the country and solidifies Sandbanks as one of the must-visit locations for a seaside holiday in the UK. What is the Blue Flag Award?

The Blue Flag Award is the international quality mark for our beaches and coastline and means that visitors can be sure that they are clean, safe and meet the highest environmental standards, as well as the tough international bathing water quality standards. The scheme was setup in 1987 by Keep Britain Tidy – a UK-based environmental charity that works with Local Authorities to reduce litter, improve local places and prevent waste.
